Six More Oklahomans Dead from COVID-19, Reported Cases at 565

Six more Oklahomans have died from COVID-19, bringing the state's total number of deaths from the illness to 23.

Deaths reported Tuesday were a man between 50 and 64 years old, a woman between 50 and 64 years old, and a man older than 65 in Oklahoma County; and men older than 65 in Canadian, Muskogee and Wagoner counties.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 177 people have now been hospitalized for COVID-19.

The state surpassed 500 reported cases on Tuesday. The total now stands at 565. Oklahoma County had 21 new reported cases Tuesday, bringing its total to 154, still the most in the state.

Tulsa County had 18 new cases reported Tuesday, bringing its total to 83.

More than one-third of Oklahoma's reported cases of COVID-19 and two-thirds of deaths have been in adults 65 or older. Under Gov. Kevin Stitt's "safer at home" order, they and anyone with a compromised immune system must stay at home until April 30.
