The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 94 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected by the illness to 2,357.

Another eight deaths were also reported Thursday. COVID-19 has now killed 131 Oklahomans since March 18, and 528 people have been hospitalized.

The illness is generally more severe as people get older. Oklahomans 65 and older account for 788 cases and 108 deaths, while those between 50 and 64 years old account for 597 cases and 16 deaths.

The number of cases and deaths among 36- to 49-year-olds and 18- to 35-year-olds, however, are similar. The older age group has had 483 cases and three deaths, while the younger has had 426 cases and five deaths.

Oklahoma, Tulsa and Cleveland counties continue to lead the state in confirmed cases, with 497, 376 and 301, respectively.
