Oklahoma House Republicans Encourage Arizona Lawmakers to Interfere in 2020 Election

Nearly all Republicans in the Oklahoma House signed a letter sent to the Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives encouraging them to get involved in the 2020 election.

They're calling on that state’s legislature to ensure all legal votes in the state for federal elections are counted and "all illegal votes for the same are rejected."

They encourage Arizona lawmakers to appoint their own electors if necessary. President-elect Joe Biden won Arizona by more than 10,000 votes.

A Facebook post by Broken Arrow Rep. Kevin McDugle said he’s proud to have signed the letter, sent to every state where "election fraud was rampant."

There has been no evidence produced to prove election fraud in any state, and President Trump’s legal team has retreated from claims of fraud in court. McDugle also made an unfounded claim those facts are lies.

The letter was signed by Majority Floor Leader Jon Echols and Reps. Chris Kannady, Cynthia Roe, Marilyn Stark, Tammy West, Rusty Cornwell, Dustin Roberts, John Pfeiffer, Ronny Johns, Mark Vancuren, Jim Grego, Kevin McDugle, T.J. Marti, Dell Kerbs, Kevin Wallace, Ryan Martinez, Mark Lepak, Sherrie Conley, Anthony Moore, Rande Worthen, Robert Manger, Sean Roberts, Chris Sneed, Denise Crosswhite-Hader, Kevin West, Jay Steagall, Justin Humphrey, Randy Randleman, Scott Fetgatter, Tom Gann, Dean Davis, Dick Lowe, Michael Osburn, David Smith, Josh West, Mark McBride, Sheila Dills, Rhonda Baker, John Talley, Garry Mize, Jadine Nollan, Terry O’Donnell, Kyle Hilbert, Carol Bush, Stan May, Lonnie Sims, Ty Burns, Mark Lawson, Ross Ford, Kenton Patzkowsky, Jim Olsen, David Hardin, Nicole Miller, Carl Newton, Jeff Boatman, Judd Strom, Brad Boles, Wendi Stearman, Brian Hill, Bob Ed Culver, Avery Frix, Ken Luttrell, Toni Hasenbeck, Steve Bashore, Gerrid Kendrix, Rick West, Preston Stinson, Logan Phillips, Chad Caldwell, Trey Caldwell, Danny Williams, Todd Russ, Danny Sterling and Mike Dobrinski.

In a statement, Oklahoma House Democrats criticized the letter signers for trying to influence another state’s election while ignoring issues here.

"Oklahoma Republicans continue to support a Governor who hides behind the term 'local control' when refusing to protect Oklahomans during this pandemic," said House Minority Leader Emily Virgin. "Now, proving that 'local control' is just a talking point to use only when it suits them, Oklahoma Republicans are trying to overturn another state’s election - a state 1,000 miles away.

"Meanwhile, they remain silent on the real issues facing our state and cannot be bothered to speak up about record-high COVID cases, deaths, and hospitalizations. Oklahomans deserve better."
