Dig It! The Hidden Sixties Summer Special Returns!

Summer-LP.jpg

If it's summer -- and indeed it is -- it must be time for the latest HIDDEN SIXTIES SUMMER SPECIAL, airing at 8pm, Friday the 28th, on 89.5 KWGS-FM (and also live-streaming at publicradiotulsa.com).

For the SUMMER SPECIAL's fifth anniversary, our own Scott Gregory and John Wooley have once again gone to the deep cuts and beyond to present an hour of music you haven't heard since the sixties, if you've heard it at all. Tune in for the likable likes of the Love Generation, Jan & Dean, Art Blakey, the Dovells, and an unjustly neglected soul-music artist named Roy Redmond. In addition, we have not one but TWO bubblegum-rock acts from Mansfield, Ohio. What are the chances?

So, join us Friday night -- and let's get this summer kicked off right! We've got a stack of tracks guaranteed to make you groove like it's 1966. That’s the HIDDEN SIXTIES SUMMER SPECIAL, Friday the 28th, at 8pm. Just like an Oklahoma summer, it'll be plenty hot!

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). As this radio station's Production Director, Scott mainly serves as the producer and editor of StudioTulsa, the award-winning interview show. He also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
