Tulsa Police Officer Tests Positive for COVID-19

Tulsa Police

A Tulsa police officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook video, Chief Wendell Franklin said a number of other officers are now quarantined as well. The officer has not been identified, and TPD has not said how many other officers are quarantined or for how long.

Franklin is asking people to file reports online or by phone when there’s no suspect around, like a car burglary that happened overnight.

"We don’t want to spread the virus. We don’t want to introduce that virus into your home. And we also don’t want you to introduce that virus out into the public. So, I’m asking that you follow the mayor’s order and say at home," Franklin said.

The online report is on TPD's website, and the nonemergency number is 918-596-9222.

If you have an emergency, dial 911.
