Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's edition of StudioTulsa, a chat by phone with the documentary filmmaker Peter Rosen. In a screening co-sponsored by Public Radio Tulsa and the Circle Cinema, Rosen's 2008 film, "Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes," will appear at the Circle in Tulsa beginning Friday, February 27th. (For showtimes and other details, call 918-592-FILM.) Additionally, Rosen's 90-minute profile of Keillor --- and of his widely beloved, live-radio show, "A Prairie Home Companion" --- will be shown on PBS television in July as a part of that network's American Masters series. As Rosen tells our host Rich Fisher, Garrison Keillor is a rather unconventional, if not entirely out-of-the-ordinary, soul --- as we hear in today's discussion, Robert Altman once called Keillor "the only genius I've ever worked with" --- and thus Rosen says that he set out to create, in "Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes," a rather unconventional documentary.
