Our guest on ST is Anthony Horowitz, the prolific English novelist and screenwriter who creates a range of different works in the mystery/suspense/thriller genre. He might be best known for his young adult adventure stories known as the Alex Rider series, all of which feature the eponymous teenage spy (who's saved the world on several different occasions). The tenth and final Alex Rider book has just been published --- it's called "Russian Roulette," and Horowitz tells us all about it on today's show. He also talks about why he's decided to "hang it up" where this particular (and highly popular) series is concerned. Horowitz also speaks about "The House of Silk" --- his 2011 Sherlock Holmes novel, which was officially recognized by the Estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and for which Horowitz has just completed a sequel. (This second Holmes novel from Horowitz is due in the fall of 2014.) Finally, we also hear about Horowitz's ongoing work on the "Foyle's War" TV series, which is seen here in the States on PBS, as a part of the "Masterpiece" variety program.
