Tulsa, OK – Repairs to Zink Dam nearing completion
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Repairs to a damaged gate at Zink Dam on the Arkansas River near Tulsa are nearing completion.
Tulsa television station KJRH reports that River Parks is fixing the hydraulic cylinders that operate the dam gates
Plans call for completely retrofitting the 30-year-old dam within three to four years.
Project manager Gaylon Pinc says it has been several months since the damaged gate has operated, and that has resulted in lower flows on the Arkansas River near Tulsa.
Plans call for $30 million in improvements, which will include raising the dam's height by three feet and replacing the gates.
The project is to be funded by a state bond package and Vision 2025 money.
