Tulsa, OK – Judge denies Okla. officer's request for new trial

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A federal judge has denied a convicted Tulsa police officer's request for a new trial.

The Tulsa World reports that U.S. District Judge Bruce Black denied Officer Jeff Henderson's motion for a new trial or acquittal.

Henderson and four other officers were indicted last year as part of a corruption probe. Henderson was convicted in August on two counts of civil rights violations and six counts of perjury. He has maintained his innocence.

In asking for a new trial, Henderson said his convictions should be thrown out because prosecutors prejudiced the jury with inaccurate cell phone data and coaxed a witness into testifying about alleged sexual relations with him.
