Tulsa, OK – 2 Tulsa officers fired after corruption probe
TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Tulsa Police Department has fired two officers who were acquitted last year on corruption charges.
The department announced in a news release Friday that officers Bruce Bonham and Nick DeBruin were fired Friday.
Both had been found not guilty during trials last year on federal charges including that they stole money and drugs, conducted illegal searches and engaged in witness tampering.
The department said in its news release an internal investigation following the trial found that the officers violated policies that include conduct unbecoming an officer and one requiring officers know, enforce and obey all laws.
A third officer who was acquitted on similar corruption charges remains suspended with pay pending an internal investigation.
A fourth officer and a former officer were convicted during the trials.
