Tulsa, OK – Convicted Okla. killer has clemency hearing set
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board has scheduled a clemency hearing for a convicted killer who faces a March execution date for the death of his wife.
The board announced Monday the hearing for 46-year-old Timothy Shaun Stemple will be held Feb. 24 in Oklahoma City.
Stemple is scheduled to die by injection March 15 for the 1996 death of 30-year-old Trisha Stemple. Prosecutors have said Timothy Stemple beat his wife with a baseball bat then ran over her with his pickup truck.
Stemple has maintained his innocence. He testified during his 1997 murder trial that his wife left their home to buy medicine several hours before her body was found alongside U.S. Highway 75 in Tulsa.
