OSU Staffer Killed

Perkins, OK – Okla. St. program worker killed in crash

PERKINS, Okla. (AP) An Oklahoma State University teacher who was also a doctoral student has been killed in a four-car crash that also killed a Perkins man.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Monica Dudley of Stillwater and 66-year-old Steven Soderling died of injuries suffered in the collision Wednesday afternoon.

OSU spokesman Gary Shutt says Dudley taught two courses in arts and sciences and was working toward a Ph.D. in educational leadership. He says Dudley also worked with a campus program for minority students.

Troopers say the crash occurred when the car driven by Dudley on State Highway 33 near Perkins crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck driven by Soderling. Two other vehicles then crashed into the wreckage but no other serious injuries are reported.
