Headaches Coming to Lewis

KWGS News

Starting Monday at 9 A.M., Lewis Avenue at Interstate-44 will be closed.  It won't reopen for more than a year.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation spokeswoman Kenna Mitchell says the roadway will be closed for 20-months while the bridge over I-44 is replaced. That means drivers will have to shift to Peoria or Harvard to go north or south through that area.

She says this is the final phase of the massive I-44 widening project.
