Tulsa Pools Going to the Dogs

With children heading back to school and lifeguards heading to college, the Parks & Recreation Department will be closing five city pools this week. After the pools are closed, two K9 splash events will be held this weekend at Reed and McClure pools. The schedule for pool closings is as follows:

  • Reed – Closed
  •  Lacy – Aug. 6
  • McClure – Aug. 9
  • Whiteside – Aug. 9
  • Berry – Aug. 9

K9 Splash Events:

Two events for dog owners will be held this weekend at Reed and McClure Pools for the annual K9 splash. All dogs must have current shots and be on a leash when entering or leaving the pool area. Lifeguards will be on-duty. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased prior to the event.

Reed Pool K9 Splash: Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Reed Community Center, 4233 S. Yukon.

McClure Pool K9 Splash: Sunday, Aug. 11 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Hicks Community Center, 3443 S. Mingo
