Teen Shot During Scuffle with OHP Trooper

OHP-Facebook

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper shot a suspect while responding to a call about a reported road rage incident on Interstate 35 in Norman.

The highway patrol says the incident happened Sunday morning. Spokeswoman Betsy Randolph says that when officers arrived, three teenagers were on top of a woman's car, kicking and hitting the doors.

Randolph says one of the teens was combative with a trooper who responded to the scene. The trooper shot the teen during the scuffle, but Randolph says the teen's injuries aren't life-threatening.

The trooper was treated at the scene for minor injuries and is now on paid administrative leave. The incident remains under investigation.
