File photo

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — A citizen of the Cherokee Nation is getting an all-expense paid trip to the Super Bowl.

U.S. Marine Corps veteran Dustin Butler of Tahlequah is among 10 veterans nationwide picked to attend Sunday's game in Phoenix.

Butler was chosen by the national nonprofit Operation Enduring Respect to watch the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots. He will receive free transportation, lodging and food and will also attend an NFL Hall of Fame luncheon with Earl Campbell, Roger Staubach and other former NFL greats.

Butler served two tours in Iraq. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps in 1999 and received an honorable discharge in 2005. In addition to serving six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Butler also served in the Air Force Reserves from 2006 until 2013.
