TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A former treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police Oklahoma State Lodge and the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for embezzling over $419,000 from the organizations.
U.S. Attorney Danny C. Williams Sr. announced Monday that 71-year-old Lorna Jean Vanlandingham of Tulsa had been sentenced to 33 months in prison. She was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay about $291,000 in restitution and a $15,000 fine.
According to the news release from the U.S. Attorney's office, Vanlandingham admitted in March that she embezzled from the Fraternal Order of Police Oklahoma from April 6, 2010, to March 11, 2014. The news release says she embezzled from the Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #93 from January 23, 2013 to April 23, 2014.
