New Honor Flight Organization Established in Oklahoma

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A new nonprofit organization has been established to provide free honor flights for Arkansas and Oklahoma military veterans to see memorials in Washington, D.C.

O & A Honor Flight announced Thursday that the first flight will be April 20, leaving from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport. Veterans will tour military memorials in Washington and visit Arlington National Ceremony.

The organization says it will accept applications from veterans in Oklahoma and Arkansas, with top priority going to World War II veterans and other veterans who may be terminally ill.

The organization says another trip leaving from Tulsa is being planned for fall 2016.
