Flames may have consumed the Welcome Table Food Pantry, Community Center and Church in Turley, but not the spirit of its founder. The Reverend Ron Robinson says the mission to serve the north Tulsa County community will continue.
A fire broke out in the old building early Thursday morning. It consumed the food pantry, community computer room, art facility, pastor's office, church sanctuary and meeting room. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
The facility was housed in what decades ago was the Methodist Church in Turley. It was built in 1925 and was one of the oldest buildings still standing in Turley.
