The Tulsa Tornado: One Year Later

KWGS News File photo

It was a year ago this evening that an EF-2 tornado bobbed across northern Tulsa County. The twister damaged homes near 46th street north and Hartford. Roofs were taken from homes and trees were uprooted.

The storm then skipped across pasture land to Owasso where homes were destroyed along 66th Street North. The tornado next touched down in the Rogers County community of Verdigris where it damaged more homes.

The tornado caused millions of dollars worth of damage. There were injuries, but no one died in the twister. A year, later most of the damage has been repaired.
