New Tulsa City Budget Approved

The Tulsa City Council approves the city's new budget. The spending plan from Mayor Bynum tops out at $827-million. The city's new fiscal year will begin on July 1st.

Mayor Bynum says the plan will allow the city to mow its right-of-ways on schedule for the first time in years. It will fund three police academies. That will add up to 90 new police officers to the Tulsa force. It pays for new fire-fighters and equipment for the Tulsa Fire Department.

The plan also includes funding for an anti-panhandling  program, Sunday bus service and pay increases to city workers with satisfactory performance reviews.
