Oral Roberts University has purchased from Victory Tulsa the buildings and seven acres on the southwest corner of 81st and Delaware. ORU plans to begin remodeling the main 100,000-square-foot building and the adjacent 14,000-square-foot warehouse immediately into a multi-purpose complex that will house Nursing, Engineering, Health Sciences, Counseling Services, ORU’s Online operations team, and the golf team. The new facility is expected to open later this year.
“With ten years of steady enrollment growth, the time is now for several of our colleges to expand,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “This provides us the opportunity to grow the Anna Vaughn College of Nursing—ORU’s top-notch program that boasts a 100% job placement rate—as well as the School of Engineering, which recently advanced to the final rounds of a competition sponsored by SpaceX about the future of public transportation.
Because the building is across from campus on a very busy 81st street, the University will offer a regularly scheduled shuttle throughout the day. ORU will also add decorative fencing to ensure the safety of students.
