Homeowners Insurance Could Soon Decrease in Tulsa

KWGS News photo

The Tulsa Fire Department announces it has achieved a top national ranking. Fire Chief Ray Driskell made the announcement this morning at a Tulsa Fire Station. He says Tulsa becomes one of only three other departments in the state with such a designation.

Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready says the ranking will have a direct impact on what you pay for homeowners insurance. He says rates should drop about one percent for homeowners and even more for business owners.

Mayor Bynum thanked the citizens of Tulsa for increasing fire department funding in recent years through various Vision Tax packages.
