Camera Will Be Used to Explore Possible Picher Crime Scene

State Impact-Oklahoma

Investigators will drop a tethered camera down a mine shift tomorrow at Picher. It is near the spot where, rumor has it, those two missing Welch girls disappeared 20-years ago.

Investigators say the camera drop is not necessarily to look for the girls, but more to check the sturdiness of the mine shaft.

Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible disappeared back in December 1999 after Freeman's home was destroyed by a fire and the bodies of her murdered parent's were found inside. Officers have speculated the girls were abducted.

Two of the suspects in this case  have died. A third, Ronnie Busick awaits trial at Vinita.
