File photo

Tulsa has seen its 18th and 19th homicides of 2020, the first in assaults since the COVID-19 outbreak hit the state.

Police are looking for a man who fatally stabbed 40-year-old Jimmy Johnson at a north Tulsa home Sunday night. Police say the men were in an altercation before Johnson was stabbed.

Officers are also looking for people who may have witnessed the stabbing.

Tulsa police have arrested a man in a separate fatal stabbing. Treshaun Williams, 19, died yesterday after allegedly being stabbed by 34-year-old Royal Fritz Senior on Friday at the Waterstone Apartments near 61st Street and Peoria Avenue.

In Tulsa's 17th homicide of the year, 36-year-old John Preston Woodward died Thursday in the hospital from injuries suffered March 6.

He was shot in the head with a crossbow. Jered Lee, 32, turned himself in for that attack.

Matt Trotter joined KWGS as a reporter in 2013. Before coming to Public Radio Tulsa, he was the investigative producer at KJRH. His freelance work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times and on MSNBC and CNN.
