From the 2012 OK Mozart broadcast series celebrating chamber music performances from the Festival, Editions 3 and 4 featuring mezzo soprano Sasha Cooke, baritone Kelly Markgraf, violinist AniKavafian, violist Paul Neubauer, cellist Peter Wiley, pianists Orion Weiss and Anna Polonsky and the Amphion Quartet. These musicians join collaborative forces to present the Chanson Perpettuelle by Ernest Chausson, BilderausOsten by Robert Schumann, the Serenade for Two Violins and Viola by ZoltanKodaly, the 2nd Piano Quartet of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert’s Quartettsatz and Samuel Barber’s Dover Beach. The musicians offer their insights into these works, we learn about the sonorous qualities of the voice and strings, and the behind-the-scenes choreography required to perform music for piano 4-hands.
