Oklahoma COVID Cases Cross 13,000 Threshold

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Oklahoma's number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 now totals over 13,000 cases statewide, as 228 new  cases of the novel coronavirus were reported Monday, for a total of 13,172. No new deaths were reported Monday for a total of 385 since the virus first started.

Tulsa County continues to lead the state in infections with 3,304 cases, and 73 new cases were reported Monday. This marks the fourth straight day of decline since Tuesday's record 259 cases was reported. The 14-day case trend is still moving upward, although the seven-day rolling average declined to 128.9 cases, down from its high of 147.6 set on Friday.

Rich Fisher passed through KWGS about thirty years ago, and just never left. Today, he is the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and the host of KWGS’s public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in August 2012 . As host of StudioTulsa, Rich has conducted roughly four thousand long-form interviews with local, national, and international figures in the arts, humanities, sciences, and government. Very few interviews have gone smoothly. Despite this, he has been honored for his work by several organizations including the Governor's Arts Award for Media by the State Arts Council, a Harwelden Award from the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa, and was named one of the “99 Great Things About Oklahoma” in 2000 by Oklahoma Today magazine.
