Tulsa County Now Seeing Substantial Transmission Of COVID-19

Dark blue states are experiencing higher case rates for every 100,000 people over a given seven day period. The map on the right shows data as of June 22nd.

Tulsa County has been upgraded by the Centers for Disease Controlas having substantial community transmission of COVID-19, meaning the virus is spreading.

 

From June 14th to June 20th, cases increased 58% in Tulsa County, with 253 new cases identified. Hospitalizations in Tulsa County are down, though, with a 26% decrease in the same time period.

 

Oklahoma as a whole has jumped in both hospitalizations and cases.

 

According to the state’s latest epidemiology report, Oklahoma’s case count increased 42% between June 6th and June 12th. Hospitalizations have also increased above the expected rate.

 

Public health officials are noting outbreaks in surrounding states. Missouri is now leading the nation for new outbreaks in COVID cases.
