Tulsa Man Jumps the Gun on Permitless Carry

Tomandandy-Wikimedia

Starting Nov. 1, Oklahomans do not need a permit to legally carry a gun. A man arrested Monday night was following that law early.

Tulsa Police stopped Trey Custer on his bicycle with a gun on his hip last night at I-244 and Sheridan Road. When they asked Custer's gun license status, police said he told them he doesn’t need one, citing the new state law.

Custer was booked into the Tulsa County Jail for failure to carry a handgun license. He was released on bond.
