Performance Oklahoma: Chamber Music Oklahoma

The Arod Quartet

This week we’ll hear the young Paris based Arod Quartet, already dazzling chamber music lovers across Europe and appearing as the guest ensemble in the season opening Founders' concert presented by Chamber Music in Oklahoma on Sunday, October 13th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, and offering Quartet No. 4 in C Major, D 46 by Franz Schubert, Anton Webern's Langsamer Satz and String Quartet No. 2, Op 15 of Alexander Zemlinsky. The Arod Quartet quickly came to international attention when they won the coveted First Prize of the 2016 ARD International Music Competition in Munich, having already taken First Prize at the Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen. The ensemble is also the 2016 HSBC Laureate of the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and records for the Erato Warner Classics label, with several acclaimed new releases.

This program airs Saturday, November 9th, 2019, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
