Goff Fest IV: Bruce Goff's Birthday Party
Tulsa Artist Fellowship, Twisted Arts and Goff Fest present a Pride Kick-Off Party and Bruce Goff Birthday celebration in the famed Tulsa Arts District during the First Friday Art Crawl. Enjoy food from Que Gusto, drinks from Heirloom Rustic Ales, and an extra special Bruce Goff Birthday Cake from local chef, Bill Harris. Included in Tulsa Artist Fellowship’s First Fridays Art Installations will be Britni Harris’ Goff-inspired ceiling hang and Jamie Pierson’s Goff-inspired platform structures.
The organizers of Goff Fest again celebrate Bruce Goff’s June 8th birthday in Tulsa honoring the life and work of Oklahoma’s unconventional architect, Bruce Goff, whose designs include the Tulsa Club Hotel, The OATH Studio--Adah Robinson’s studio and home, Riverside Studio--home to the Spotlight Theatre, the interiors of Christ the King Church, the Frank Home (John Frank/Sapulpa), the Midwest Equitable Meter Company building, and Tulsa’s Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, on which he collaborated with Adah Robinson, and many more.
The four-day celebratory program features a birthday party for Mr. Goff, tours of Goff-designed buildings, public art displays, a Tulsa architecture trivia and celebratory karaoke, a nightlife event in the Riverside Studio, and an arts engagement with the Tulsa Tough Cry Baby Hill race. Organized by the Goff Center of the Continuous Present (GCCP) with support from the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, Tulsa Foundation for Architecture, the Center for Queer Prairie Studies, OATH Law, Riverside Studio, Tulsa Spotlight Theater, Pop House Music, Heirloom Rustic Ales, The Tulsa International Airport, Urban Archive of New York, and the Friends of Kebyar, events will be held in various venues throughout downtown and midtown Tulsa.
