TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A former Tulsa police officer convicted of perjury and civil rights violations is seeking a new trial, claiming mistakes were made at his federal corruption trial last year.

Attorneys for Jeff Henderson filed his 78-page petition with the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals late Monday.

Henderson claims the judge at his trial shouldn't have allowed rebuttal testimony of an FBI agent and that jurors may have been confused over some of the verdicts. He also argues that a mistrial should have been declared after prosecutors asked a question referring to an alleged sexual affair.

Henderson was never accused or charged with any crime related to the alleged affair referenced at his trial.

Henderson was among four officers sentenced in December in a police corruption probe.
