Mayor Dewey Bartlett said the City of Tulsa’s sales tax revenue for mid-October to mid-November as reported by the Oklahoma Tax Commission, totaled $19,110,236.

That is about one-half percent above budget estimates and 4.1 percent above the same period last year.  For the year-to date, the City has received $113,323,115 in sales tax revenues, or about $8.85 million more than for the same period last year.  That is one-quarter percent above last year.

Use taxes for the month totaled $1,794,572, up 10.7 percent from the $1,621,472 collected in the same period a year earlier. For the fiscal year to date, use taxes total 10.477,345,  compared to the $9,397,521 collected for the same period in 2011.  Use tax collections exceeded budget estimates by 10.6 percent for the month and 2.8 percent for the first six months of the fiscal year.

“We are happy to see sales tax revenues continue to increase and we hope that next month, when much of the holiday shopping results are included, that it will be even better,” said Mayor Dewey Bartlett.

“It is important to remember that the revenues going to the City’s general fund, which pays for most public safety operations and many other daily city government functions, is still only slightly above what we had in 2008 before the big recession,” the mayor added.
