Trail of Tears Retraced on Bikes

Wikipedia

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — Fifteen Cherokee students have left Oklahoma for Georgia where they'll start retracing the Trail of Tears on bicycle.

This year marks the 175th anniversary of the Trail of Tears in which the Cherokees were forced to move into what is now Oklahoma.

The route will take them through Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri and Arkansas.
