TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women is scheduled to present an interim report on female incarceration issues this week.
The report will be presented Wednesday to Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett Jr. at City Hall.
Oklahoma ranks No. 1 among all states in the number of women in prison with 127 per 100,000 population, compared to the national average of 63 per 100,000.
Tulsa County is the largest contributor to the state's female incarceration rates.
