Memorial Service in Oklahoma City for Energy CEO McClendon

Wikipedia

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A public memorial service has been scheduled in Oklahoma City for energy executive Aubrey McClendon.

The service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Crossings Community Church in northwest Oklahoma City.

McClendon died Wednesday after the sport utility vehicle he was driving crashed into a concrete bridge abutment and burst into flames.

The crash came a day after McClendon was indicted for allegedly conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases in northwest Oklahoma.

McClendon was a founder and CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corp. before stepping down in 2013 and founding American Energy Partners. He was also a part owner of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder.
