QT Founder Chester Cadieux Dead at 84

The founder of one of America’s most admired companies, Tulsa based Quik Trip, has died.

The company announced 84 year-old Chester Cadieux died at his Tulsa home last night. Cadieux and Tulsa businessman Burt Holmes founded Quik Trip in 1958.

The company has over 700 stores in 11 states. Quik Trip is considered a pioneer in the convenience store/gasoline business.

Cadieux often told interviewers that he was “luckier than smart” when asked about his business success. He has credited much of QT’s growth to its employees.

You may hear John Erling's interview with Cadieux at the University of Tulsa's Voices of Oklahoma web site by clicking here.
