TUSA, Okla. (AP) — A man accused in the fatal shooting of the owner of a barn where he had been living in Sperry has been sentenced to four years in prison.
The Tulsa World reports that 79-year-old Fletcher Foster was sentenced Friday. Foster had pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the death of 42-year-old William Kelley on Dec. 7, 2014. He had been originally charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities say Kelly's son told deputies that he and his father had gone to the barn to retrieve equipment to dislodge a vehicle that had become stuck in the mud. A probable cause affidavit says that it appeared that Foster did not recognize Kelley, when the shooting happened.
