As Local Schools Deal with COVID-19 Response, TPS Cancels Trips

Oklahoma Watch

With two cases of COVID-19 in Tulsa County, area schools are implementing safety measures.

Most school districts are now taking additional cleaning and sanitizing measures. Several are prepared to shift instruction from classrooms to the internet if health officials advise closing schools.

Tulsa Public Schools has canceled all school-sponsored travel within the U.S. through March 30th and all international travel through April 30th.

District officials across Green Country have said they will not monitor students' or employees' travel over spring break, but they are asking families to follow self-quarantining protocols if they visit countries designated as Level 2 or 3 travel risks by the Centers for Disease Control.

Holland Hall has canceled school the rest of the week after learning some members of the school community were in contact with a family member of someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

A regional arts festival Holland Hall was to host next month has also been canceled. It was expected to bring in more than 3,500 people.

Local districts are posting COVID-19 situation updates on their websites:
