• Public health officials are concerned as the new school year rapidly approaches amid a rise in COVID infections, especially since a new law signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt forbids districts from requiring masks in the classroom unless he declares a new state of emergency.

• Tulsa Public Schools officials say their curriculum complies with a new state law banning the teaching of certain concepts surrounding race, gender and history.
