Two Dead In Police Chase Crash

Google Street View

Two people are dead in the Payne County town of Yale. They were killed in an auto crash when a suspect in a stolen pick-up ran a stop sign and struck the vehicle in which they were riding.

Killed were 77-year-old Frank Margason of Stillwater and 28-year-old Shelayna Knott of Orlando, Oklahoma. They were both dead at the scene. Two other people in the Honda Passport were injured.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Tommy McClendon, Jr. was under the influence of drugs while being chased by Yale Police. After the crash, he jumped from the stolen truck and ran into the woods. He was captured later by authorities. An 18-year-old Drumright girl, riding in the truck, was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.

McClendon was booked into the Payne County Jail at Stillwater.
