Tulsa, Oklahoma – On our program today, we discuss the latest in the PLANiTULSA process. PLANiTULSA is the name for Tulsa's efforts to come up with a new, apt, and inclusive Comprehensive Plan. Our guest on StudioTulsa is Glen Bolen, a Vice President at Fregonese and Associates, the urban planning firm that's been commissioned by the City of Tulsa to help execute the PLANiTULSA efforts. As Bolen tells our host Rich Fisher --- and as was announced last night (May 12th) at a public meeting / social gathering at Tulsa's landmark Cain's Ballroom --- four different future-growth "scenarios" for our city have been synthesized, processed, and developed by the PLANiTULSA team. These four scenarios --- labeled A, B, C, and D --- are derived from the viewpoints, requests, wishes, and desires voiced by hundreds of Tulsans who participated in various citywide public workshops that began last fall. As this next phase of the process begins --- it's called, incidentally, "Which Way, Tulsa?" --- residents of Tulsa are urged to view and study these four scenarios, and to then fill out the survey that accompanies them. By doing so, their opinions on how and where this city might best develop will be registered as fully and accurately as possible. (To view the scenarios and complete the survey, visit http://planitulsa.org.) The public survey period for "Which Way, Tulsa?" will run through June 18th of this year. What should life in Tulsa be like in the coming years --- and the coming decades? Or, to put it another way, how do YOU think this city should grow? The goal is for 15,000 Tulsans to submit a survey. Be sure to do so.
