Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of StudioTulsa, we visit with Nancy Pearl, a longtime librarian and author who's been sharing her book recommendations with this program --- and with NPR's Morning Edition, for that matter --- for several years now. With yet another day of super-hot temps and bright-blue sunny skies all over Northeastern Oklahoma, and with the July 4th holiday just around the corner, we figured the moment had arrived for some can't-miss Summer Reading tips. Here is Nancy's list....

THE GONE-AWAY WORLD by Nick Harkaway
NARROW DOG TO INDIAN RIVER by Terry Darlington
THE COLOR OF LIGHTNING by Paulette Jiles
THE PHOTOGRAPHER by Emmanuel Guibert
THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK by Matthew Quick
HOW TO SELL by Clancy Martin
TRAVELS IN A THIN COUNTRY: A JOURNEY THROUGH CHILE by Sara Wheeler
(also by Sara Wheeler, an earlier book called TERRA INCOGNITA: TRAVELS IN ANTARCTICA)
THE SWEETNESS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PIE by Alan Bradley
THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins

That's it --- happy reading, folks! And keep cool!
