OU Not Requiring Test Scores on Applications Through 2025

Submitting scores from a test like the ACT or SAT will be optional for students applying to the University of Oklahoma for the next five years.

Officials say making that step optional will help increase access to the university.

"Test scores can be a helpful tool in determining readiness, but they are not the only measure that projects that. Through our holistic admissions process, we are looking for proven academic excellence and for students who demonstrate grit, perseverance and a passion to make a positive impact on the world," Senior Associate Vice President for the Division of Enrollment Management and Executive Director for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment Jeff Blahnik said in a statement.

OU will continue to evaluate incoming students on academic performance, extracurricular activities, a personal essay and letters of recommendation.

Potential students are encouraged to submit test scores to help with course placement and maximize scholarship opportunities.
