Plan For Child Care And Development Fund Released

Catholic Online
The plan covers 2022-2024

A state agency is seeking comment on how to support working families with child care.

Oklahoma Department of Human Services has completed a draft of its Child Care and Development Fund program plan.

CCDF is federal funding given to states to support low-income working families with child care.

This morning a meeting for public comment was held.

Amy Emerson of Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness made a suggestion for the plan.

“We specifically encourage OKDHS to consider uses of contracted slots within child care deserts or other areas of critical need,” said Emerson.

There’s more money available this year thanks to the American Rescue Plan. Oklahoma received over $500 million for child care under the American Rescue Plan.

Details on how these funds are awarded will be available in the last two quarters of 2021.
