Campus Rape Cases in America: A Chat with Kristen Lombardi of The Center for Public Integrity

Aired on Thursday, April 24th.

On this edition of ST, we speak with the award-winning journalist Kristen Lombardi, who's a staff writer at The Center for Public Integrity, and who's probably best known for her series of articles based on an in-depth and far-reaching investigation into campus rape cases in America (which won the Robert F. Kennedy Award and the Dart Award in 2011, as well as the Sigma Delta Chi Award for Public Service in 2010, among other honors). Last night, at an event sponsored by The University of Tulsa Institute of Trauma, Adversity, and Injustice, Lombardi gave a free-to-the-public address on the TU campus that was derived from this important series of articles. This talk, "Sexual Assault Lecture: Pulling Back the Curtain on a Pervasive Campus Crime," took place in the John Rogers Hall --- and it's the basis for our conversation with Lombardi today. We also speak with her about her more recently published series of reports on the alarming "coal ash" phenomenon in this country.
