"Illustrated Art of Manliness: The Essential How-To Guide to Survival, Chivalry, Self-Defense, Etc."

Aired on Friday, June 16th.

On this installment of ST, we welcome Brett McKay, a native Tulsan whose "Art of Manliness" blog gets about 10 million visitors each month. This very popular men's lifestyle website has led to a series of books, the latest of which, just out, is called "The Illustrated Art of Manliness: The Essential How-To Guide to Survival, Chivalry, Self-Defense, Style, Car Repair, and More." It's a drawing-laden guidebook that tells all us guys how to, for example: disarm an attacker, fell a tree and start a fire anywhere, use every tool in the toolbox, lead a meeting and command the attention of a room, dance, fight, shave, shake a hand, pick a lock, fire a gun, et cetera. McKay will appear at a Book Smart Tulsa event in connection with this new book tomorrow, Saturday the 17th, at 2pm. It happens at Fair Fellow Coffee, near the corner of Admiral and Lewis in Tulsa.

Rich Fisher is celebrating his 40th year of service to Public Radio Tulsa. Since 2000, he has been the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and previously served as the host of the public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which ran from 1992-2021. Prior to that, he served as music director, a program host and operations director for the station.
